Background: Mavis De Clermont hails from a forgotten Shard erased from existence — a world where gods of every pantheon walked openly among mortals. Born of a mortal Veena father and Hekate, goddess of witchcraft and crossroads, Mavis entered life as a miracle:
a half-divine child gifted with limitless potential and carrying the very first incarnation of Azem’s Wanderer soul.
A natural prodigy, he mastered every magical discipline — Black Magic, Summoning, Red Magic, healing arts, starcraft, pictomancy, monster-spells, and even forbidden aether — before reaching adulthood. His brilliance and unpredictable heart embodied everything the Azem soul was destined to be.
But tragedy shaped him.
On the day of his wedding, a jealous deity struck down his Miqo’te fiancé, Samuel. In desperation, Mavis attempted a resurrection far beyond his mastery. The spell shattered the Shard’s aether, failed to restore the man he loved… and cursed him with true immortality — unable to die, unable to age, and doomed to outlive every soul he would ever love.

Across centuries, he wandered Etheirys as a healer, a hermit, a prodigy, and a quiet guardian. Eventually, weary of aimless eternity, he built something new: The Wasted Wizards Tavern, a chaotic magical refuge for travelers, misfits, mages, and wayward souls.
There, he accidentally (and lovingly) founded the House of De Clermont, offering shelter and family to those the world had forgotten. Now, Mavis lives as an immortal tavernkeeper with the power of a god and the heart of a wandering soul — a being who has seen worlds die and rise, but still chooses compassion over conquest, freedom over order, and connection over destiny.
